Fundo Verde funds projects that aim at improving the electrical infrastructure of the Cidade Universitária campus, as well as investing in innovation technologies for UFRJ. Such investments are made as to promote greater safety for the UFRJ's electrical grid and a cultural change towards investments in electrical equipment and infrastructure. 

During its operation, Fundo Verde carried out installation/renovation works to four electrical substations, specially the modernization of Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital’s electrical substation and the installation of the substation in Technology Center II.

We have additionally provided the changing of light bulbs in five centers/institutes, which amounted to more than 68,000 changed light bulbs in the following buildings: Health Sciences Center, Technology Center, Mathematics and Nature Sciences Center and Technological Development Support Laboratory – Dentistry.

Fundo Verde is curretly funding the replacement of all the 1130 public lighting fixtures on the campus with LED models, an ongoing project that will be completed during the year 2022.

Fundo Verde’s actions in the energy efficience sector contribute to the “Essa conta é de todos”, (This bill belongs to everyone) campaign, created by the Rector’s Office and UFRJ’s Administrative Office to reduce electricity costs at the university.
